Our school took part in the “Rag Bag” Textile Recycling Scheme earlier this month.
To-day we received a certificate congratulating us for all the hard work put in collecting bags of unwanted textiles and a cheque for £231.30!
We would like to thank all who helped us gather the unwanted textiles that resulted in an increase to school funds.
Each year, most pupils at Culter School participate in a Science Workshop which is related to topics taught at that stage. Generation Science will be in school over the nex few months to deliver a wide range of Science Workshops appropriate to the age and stage of pupils. The children enjoy the work very much and we believe Generation Science enable us to deliver Science in a fun and enjoyable way which motivates and interests children.
We are sure that the children will enjoy the workshops. We hope to post photographs of all workshops on the School Main BLOG.
Letters will be coming home soon giving details of the workshop your child will be involved in.
Please do not hesitate to contact the School Office if you have any queries.
From time to time members of staff are required to get in touch with parents/carers for a variety of reasons. It is important that pupil information is kept up to date.
If you have moved house, have changed any of the following telephone numbers please notify the school as soon as possible. Telephones: Landline no./Works no./mobile no.
Should any emergency contact numbers have changed, please also get in touch with the school as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support.
You are invited to our annual School Book Fair which will take place in the School Infant Hall from Thursday 29 January – Tuesday 3 February. On Thursday and Friday please come along at the times detailed below and browse through the hundreds of children’s books which will be on display. On Monday and Tuesday you will have the opportunity to buy any of these books.
Your child will also have the opportunity to browse and buy books at the times detailed. (If paying cheque, please make it payable to “Culter School Fund”).
In the past, our Book Fairs have been successful in encouraging children to read, as well as being an important source of new books for the school. We will receive commission on every book sold and this will help us to extend our school reading resources. We hope that you will support us again this year.
A note has been handed to all P1-P7 classes today relating to our Book Fair for this year.

A Nintendo DS Game was handed in to the school office 2/3 weeks ago. The Game was found around the school grounds.
If you have lost such an item and would like to check if it is your game, please telephone the school office or call in person and give details of the item.
Just a brief note to inform you that our stock of sweatshirts have arrived in school.
Prior to the Easter holidays parents may place an order to prepare for next Session 2009/2010. A hard copy of the sweatshirt order form can be obtained from the School Office or you can access the School main blogsite (abernet.org.uk/culterblog) and follow the links to the school office blog. The School Office Blog is: www.culterschooloffice.edublogs.org
All orders must have the payment enclosed in an envelope with your child’s name and current class. Cheques are to be made payable to: “Culter School Fund”.
We would envisage getting all orders in by 25 March 2009 and sending them off before school closes on 3 April for the Easter break. Hopefully the garments will be in school sometime in May.
